    Hi
I’m building my first amp, and it’s going fairly well, but this section of the book has me baffled. I don’t even know what question to start with. Here goes: the kit seems not to have a brass plate, and so how will I accomplish the rest of pp 6 instructions?
Also, and scarily ” now solder the ground connection from output tube….” I see in the schematic what to do here, but do I just solder a signal wire from there to a rough spot on the chassis?
Thanks in advance. I’m excited to get this up and running.

    Hey there,

Sorry this is embarrasingly late. The brass plate is really a grounding plate. I typically make a ground bus out of wire and solder it across the back of the pots, then solder all the ground points to that. The end then goes to ground at the three terminal strip. You can also do this with a ground wire. The newer kits come with a strip of ground wire (squarish strip) that you can attach across the pots.
